Affiliated Computer Services Inc. said Tuesday it completed its $42 million purchase of Transportation Management Systems, which provides GPS-based fleet management systems.
The all-cash deal for TMS, a unit of Dulles, Va.-based Orbital Sciences Corp., was announced April 17.
TMS technology is used by more than 60 state, regional and local transit agency customers, exceeding 27,500 vehicles, or more than 30 percent of the fleets in the U.S. and Canada.
Shortly after the opening bell, shares of Affiliated rose 80 cents to $54.10, while shares of Orbital fell 5 cents to $25.58.
