Amtech gets $8.5 million in new solar orders

Amtech Systems Inc., which supplies production and automation systems to make solar cells, chips and silicon wafers, said Tuesday it received $8.5 million worth of new solar orders for its diffusion processing systems.
The orders including a "sizeable" follow-on contract from an existing customer and initial orders from two new customers, all based in Asia.
The company also said it will soon launch its new solar PECVD product and begin testing solar wafers with a customer.
Amtech said overall industry growth trends remain strong, and backed its outlook for 2008 revenue of $71 million to $75 million.
