Amusement and water park operator Cedar Fair Entertainment Co. said Tuesday that attendance and revenue at its parks through June 1 were flat compared with the same period a year ago.
Chief Executive Dick Kinzel said the company's early-season results have been "somewhat mixed" across the company's properties.
Kinzel said attendance and revenue has been soft in the northern region, except at Canada's Wonderland near Toronto because of its new Behemoth roller coaster. Performance in the southern and western regions, however, has improved.
Kinzel added that season-pass sales and group business has been strong, but hotel bookings are "running slightly behind last year at this time."
The company said results through May typically represent about 15 percent of its annual revenue.
