On a day when shares of large oil exploration companies fell along with the price of crude, one smaller industry player soared to a new high.
Clayton Williams Energy Inc. rose $5.31, or 4.9 percent, to $114.24, hitting an all-time high of $115.85 during the session. The Midland, Texas oil company, which does business only in the U.S., has seen shares more than triple so far this year.
