NEW YORK (AP) _ Shares of athletic apparel maker Under Armour Inc. slipped in midday trading Wednesday as a Stifel Nicolaus & Co. analyst started coverage of the Baltimore company with a "Hold" rating, citing "consumer belt tightening" that may hurt the brand's growth.

NEW YORK (AP) _ Shares of Varian Medical Systems Inc. rose more than 3 percent Wednesday after the medical device and software maker said it will supply diagnostic imaging parts to Toshiba under a new three-year, $320 million contract and analysts came away from the company's analyst day bullish on the stock.
