ViaSat awarded $51.9 million Navy contract

ViaSat Inc. received a $51.9 million Navy contract to supply Multifunctional Information Distribution System terminals, which provide digital battlefield views and provide users with high-capacity, jam-resistant voice and data connections.

The contract combines purchases for the U.S. military, Turkey and Portugal.

Shares of the Carlsbad, Calif., company fell 6 cents to $21.96 Wednesday.
