Helix Energy names new chief financial officer

Oilfield services provider Helix Energy Solutions Inc. said Thursday that Chief Financial Officer Wade Pursell will resign his position June 25 and be replaced by Anthony Tripodo.

Tripodo currently serves as CFO of oil and gas drilling services company Tesco Corp. He has also been a member of Helix's board of directors since 2003.

Tesco said that Vice President and Controller Robert Kayl will serves as acting CFO until a permanent replacement can be found.

Kayl has been with Tesco since 2005. Before joining the company, he was tax director of a subsidiary of Noble Corp.

Helix shares closed Wednesday's session at $37.83, and Tesco shares finished at $35.73. Neither stock moved in premarket trading.
