Standard & Poor's makes changes to indices

Standard & Poor's on Thursday said it will make several changes to its indices, effective after the close of trading on Friday.
Natural gas producer Cabot Oil & Gas Corp. and Brunswick Corp., which makes boats, will switch places. Cabot Oil & Gas will now be in the S&P 500 and Brunswick will move to the S&P SmallCap 600.
Similarly, coal producer Massey Energy Co. will replace office-supply retailer OfficeMax Inc. in the S&P 500, while OfficeMax takes Massey's place in the S&P SmallCap 600.
FLIR Systems Inc., which makes night vision and thermal imaging equipment, will replace restaurant operator Ruby Tuesday Inc. in the S&P MidCap 400, and Ruby Tuesday will take FLIR Systems' place in the S&P SmallCap 600.
Trimble Navigation Ltd., a supplier of navigation systems and software, will replace CSG Systems International Inc. in the S&P MidCap 400, and CSG, which offers customer and billing services to cable and satellite providers, will replace Trimble in the S&P SmallCap 600.
