News and financial information company Thomson Reuters has agreed to sell its Dialog research database business to the ProQuest unit of privately held Cambridge Information Group.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The companies did not give an expected closing date for the deal but said it would close after a formal consultation period and other customary closing conditions.
Dialog's databases include Derwent World Patents Index, Investext, TrademarkScan, SciSearch and Biosis.
Dialog will continue to be a distribution channel for Thomson Reuters content after the transaction.
