Major beverage stocks fell in late trading Friday, despite gains in the broader market, after the second-largest Coca-Cola bottler, Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Co. S.A., warned its 2008 profit had been hurt by soft economic conditions, bad weather and rising costs in Europe.
How shares of some major beverage makers performed:
Coca-Cola Co. tumbled $1.72, or 3 percent, to close at $55.42.
Molson Coors Brewing Co. lost 25 cents to $57.72.
PepsiCo Inc. shed 41 cents to $67.54.
Anheuser-Busch Cos. fell 28 cents to $61.12.
