The U.S. arm of British utility owner National Grid PLC spent more than $557,000 in the first quarter to lobby on climate change legislation and other issues, according to a disclosure report.
The London-based company also lobbied the U.S. government on tax issues affecting utilities, natural gas production incentives and restrictions, passport and security requirements for utility workers, pipeline extensions, transmission projects and other matters.
In the January-to-March period, the company lobbied Congress, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and the departments of Interior and Treasury, according to the report filed April 18 with the House clerk's office.
