Specialty paper manufacturer Schweitzer-Mauduit International Inc. said Friday it will raise prices in North, Central and South America in July.
The company said the price increases are about 20 percent.
The increase is the result of a rise in the cost of wood pulp, energy, chemicals and transportation, as well as currency conversion.
The company added the price hike will not apply to customers with long-term contracts.
Shares of Schweitzer-Mauduit rose 16 cents to $18.75 in afternoon trading.
