Thomson Reuters offers $1.75 billion in notes

Media company Thomson Reuters Corp. on Tuesday said it will offer $1.75 billion in notes, in an offering expected to close Friday.

Thomson Reuters will offer $750 million 5.95 percent notes due 2013 and $1 billion in 6.5 percent notes due 2018.

Thomson plans to use net proceeds to repay borrowings related to part of the cost of its Reuters acquisition.

Thomson Corp. bought Reuters Group PLC on April 17, creating a top financial news and professional information company.

Barclays Capital Inc., Greenwich Capital Markets Inc., JPMorgan Securities Inc. and Morgan Stanley & Co. Inc. are the joint book-running managers for the offering.
