Opening Glance: Insurers mostly fall

Shares of insurers mostly fell early Wednesday morning along with declines in broader markets as FedEx Corp. was the latest to warn surging fuel costs will hurt future profits and Morgan Stanley said second-quarter profit declined 61 percent because of continued deterioration in the credit markets.
How some insurers fared Wednesday morning:
Ambac Financial Group Inc. fell 12 cents, or 5.6 percent, to $2.02.
PMI Group Inc. fell 10 cents, or 2.3 percent, to $4.25.
Travelers Cos. fell 29 cents to $46.96.
XL Capital Ltd. rose 30 cents to $30.09.
