PPL unit president resigns, successor named

PPL Corp., an energy and utility holding company, said Wednesday that Clarence "Joe" Hopf has resigned as president of its marketing and trading subsidiary to take an executive position at Public Service Enterprise Group.
Robert D. Gabbard will become president of the subsidiary, PPL EnergyPlus. Gabbard joined the company earlier this month as senior vice president of trading and before that at Delaware's Conectiv Energy, according to a company release.
Shares of PPL fell 9 cents Wednesday to close at $51.
