Northeast Utilities, which owns electric and gas utilities in New England, spent nearly $328,000 in the first quarter lobbying on energy and environmental issues.
The Berlin, Conn.-based company lobbied on a bill that would change regulations for the construction of power lines, an effort to require power companies to get a portion of their electricity from renewable sources like solar and wind, and funding for low-income heating assistance, according to an April 21 filing with the House clerk's office.
Northeast Utilities has more than 2 million customers in Connecticut, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
