TeleCommunication Systems wins $2.4M contract

TeleCommunication Systems Inc., a wireless service provider, said Tuesday it has received a three-year contract valued at $2.4 million from the U.S. Department of Defense to build a private satellite network in Afghanistan.
The network, which is scheduled to be fully operational by mid-July, will provide voice, video and data services for off-duty Department of Defense personnel in remote areas of Afghanistan. The company will provide network management and monitoring.
