Shares of insurers mostly rose Wednesday, holding onto gains after the Federal Reserve Board kept a key interest rate at 2 percent, but said rising energy prices are likely to quicken inflation and limit growth.
The Fed did say there are some positive signs in the economy, including some improvement in household spending.
Here's a look at how some insurers fared Wednesday:
Assured Guaranty Ltd. rose 47 cents, or 2.2 percent to $21.43.
MGIC Investment Corp. rose 8 cents to $8.25.
Allstate Corp. rose 9 cents to $47.55.
American International Group Inc. fell 9 cents to $29.74.
