FreightCar America Inc. said it reached a tentative settlement with the United Steelworkers of America.
The railroad car operator did not disclose the terms of the deal, which still requires approval by the union's members in Johnstown, Pa.
The two sides have had a long-standing dispute over benefits at FreightCar's plant in Johnstown.
In May, FreightCar said it would take a charge of $20 million to $24.5 million related to the disagreement.
