Opening Glance: Insurers

Shares of insurers mostly rose Wednesday morning as the broader market posted gains ahead of an expected announcement later in the day that the Federal Reserve Board will keep its key interest rate at 2 percent.

Here's a look at how some insurers fared early Wednesday:

Ambac Financial Group Inc. rose 8 cents, or 4.1 percent, to $2.03.

MGIC Investment Corp. added 11 cents to $8.28.

American International Group Inc. gained 32 cents to $30.15. AIG's asset management unit said Tuesday night it was selling its stake in a Dutch power generation company for an undisclosed sum.

Progressive Corp. fell 4 cents to $19.44.
