Assurant Inc., which sells short-term health insurance and other specialized insurance products, spent $320,000 lobbying in the first quarter, according to a recent disclosure form.
The New York-based company lobbied Congress on legislation related to health insurance regulations, identify theft, data privacy, mental health coverage and taxes, according to an April 21 filing with the House clerk's office.
Besides Congress, the company lobbied the departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Treasury, the White House, Federal Reserve and Social Security Administration in the first three months of the year.
