Online jewelry auctioneer Bidz.com Inc. reiterated its fiscal second-quarter and full-year outlook late Thursday saying it is experiencing strong international sales growth.
The company still expects second-quarter profit of 9 cents to 11 cents per share on revenue of $48 million to $50 million, and profit for the fiscal year of 52 cents to 55 cents per share on $225 million to $230 million in revenue.
Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expect second-quarter profit of 10 cents per share on $49.3 million in revenue, and fiscal year profit of 57 cents on $234.2 million in revenue.
Bidz said sales growth outside the U.S. remains strong, and that it anticipates second-quarter international sales will be up 50 percent over the year-ago quarter.
The company also said that it is "seeing very encouraging results" from a recently launched Spanish language version of its Bidz.com auction Web site, and said that traffic from Spain, Mexico, Chile and Columbia was among its top 10 countries in June.
Bidz said that, as it has already announced, it plans to launch more foreign language translations of Bidz.com. It is working on an Arabic version of the site that it expects to launch in the third quarter.
