Out of the Gate: Stillwater shares climb

Shares of Stillwater Mining Co. rose in early trading as shares look to recover from a steep decline since late May.
The stock has declined since March when prices of palladium began to decline. The Billings, Mont., company extracts and processes palladium and platinum in south central Montana.
Shares gained 90 cents, or 8.2 percent, to $11.93. They rose as high as $22.72 on March 4. From May 23 to June 17 the shares declined from $15.56 to $10.59.
