William O. Albertini, a former chief financial officer of Bell Atlantic Corp. who served on the boards of several publicly traded companies, died Saturday.
Albertini served as a director of women's clothing retailer Charming Shoppes Inc., aircraft-parts maker Triumph Group Inc., specialty gas company Airgas Inc. and investment manager BlackRock Inc. at the time of his death.
He retired in 1999 as CFO of wireless communication services provider Bell Atlantic Global Wireless Inc. Previously, he was finance chief and served on the board of Bell Atlantic Corp., which is now Verizon Communications.
