IPC The Hospitalist Company Inc., a physician group practice operator, said Monday it has bought Texas Inpatient Services in a move to expand into the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Shares of IPC fell 64 cents, or 3.3 percent, to close Monday at $18.82.
