Luminex raises $74.3M from public offering

Luminex Corp. said Monday that it raised $74.3 million from its public offering of 4 million shares, which priced at $19.91 apiece.
The offering, which closed Monday, included more than 500,000 shares purchased by the underwriters under an overallotment option.
Luminex plans to use its net proceeds, which exclude fees and expenses, for research and development, potential acquisitions, capital expenditures and other general corporate purposes.
JP Morgan Securities and UBS Investment Bank served as the lead underwriters for the offering. Avondale Partners, Canaccord Adams and Leerink Swann also backed the offering.
Luminex shares gained 2 cents to $20.81 in afternoon trading.
