Apparel manufacturer VF Corp. said Monday its second-quarter profit may beat its guidance because of stronger earnings from operations and a tax benefit.
The company said its profit could exceed the 80 cents per share it previously expected by 10 percent to 12 percent.
That implies profit between 88 cents and 90 cents.
Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expect profit of 80 cents per share.
VF Corp. will report its second quarter earnings on July 15.
Shares fell 93 cents to close at $71.18.
