Internet phone provider Vonage Holdings Corp. spent more than $204,000 in the first quarter lobbying on telecommunications regulation, according to a disclosure report.
The company also lobbied on legislation to ensure that users of Internet-based phones can access emergency 911 services, according to the report filed with the House clerk's office April 16.
Holmdel, N.J.-based Vonage pioneered technology that enables phone service through a high-speed Internet connection. The company settled several patent lawsuits last year with major phone companies such as AT&T Inc. and Verizon Communications Inc.
