PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) _ Schnitzer Steel Industries Inc. said Tuesday its fiscal third-quarter profit jumped 29 percent on robust demand for recycled metals in developing countries.

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. (AP) _ Semiconductor maker Standard Microsystems Corp. said Tuesday its fiscal 2009 first-quarter earnings jumped 40 percent, driven by higher sales of its analog and automotive technology products.
