IntercontinentalExchange, which operates regulated global futures exchanges and over-the-counter markets, on Wednesday said futures volume rose 15 percent in June, while over-the-counter commissions surged 48 percent.
ICE futures average daily volume increased 15 percent to 958,436.
Average daily commissions for ICE's global OTC business jumped 48 percent to $1.2 million.
Average daily volume at ICE Futures Europe was rose 18 percent to 617,990 contracts in June 2008. For ICE Futures U.S., average daily volume rose 13 percent to 325,931. Meanwhile, average daily volume at ICE Futures Canada fell 14 percent.
IntercontinentalExchange shares dropped $7.15, or 7.2 percent, to $108.10 on Wednesday, after hitting an 18-month low of $108 earlier in the session. The stock previously traded between $110.25 and $194.92 during the past year.
