Opening Glance: Insurers open mixed

Shares of insurers opened mixed Thursday morning as the broader market veered between positive and negative territory after the Labor Department said the unemployment rate held steady at 5.5 percent in June.

How some insurers fared early Thursday:

MBIA Inc. fell 12 cents, or 3 percent, to $3.85.

MGIC Investment Corp. fell 8 cents to $6.40.

Cincinnati Financial Corp. rose 10 cents to $25.34.

Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. rose 54 cents to $64.69.
