Shares of construction and engineering companies closed lower on Monday as the broader market gave up early gains following a negative take on the economy from a Federal Reserve official.
In a speech, San Francisco Federal Reserve President Janet Yellen said that problems with the U.S. housing and banking sectors could worsen before the economy recovers, according to media reports.
Here's how some shares of construction and engineering shares performed:
URS Corp., down 92 cents, or 2.4 percent, to $36.89.
Perini Corp., down $1.68, or 6.2 percent, to $25.55.
KBR Inc., down 64 cents, or 2 percent, to $31.21.
Quanta Services Inc., down 56 cents to $29.96.
