Shares of electrical equipment companies finished mixed on Monday after a volatile day for the broader market amid a decline in oil prices and negative comments about the state of the banking and housing sectors from a Federal Reserve official.

Here's how some shares of electrical equipment makers fared:

Avnet Inc., up 78 cents, or 3.1 percent, to $26.09.

Graftech International Ltd., up 5 cents to $23.

Amphenol Corp., down 57 cents to $44.39.

General Cable Corp., down 42 cents to $56.32.
