Closing Glance: Health care stocks

Shares of health care providers and service companies were mixed Monday as the broader market fluctuated.

The Dow Jones started out in positive territory Monday, swung to a loss of more than 160 points before recovering nearly two-thirds of its losses.

The day's results in the health care sector included:

Hospital operator Tenet Healthcare Corp., down 20 cents, or 3.6 percent, to $5.38.

Medical lab operator Quest Diagnostic Inc. rose 29 cents to $48.55.

Drug distributor AmerisourceBergen Corp. shed 67 cents to $38.37, after hitting a two-and-a-half-year low of $38.06 during the session.

Health insurer UnitedHealth Group Inc. gained 35 cents, to $23.31, after touching a five-year low of $22.68 earlier.
