Live music and events company Live Nation Inc. said Monday it bought a controlling interest in the Main Square Festival held in Arras, France.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The company said the deal brought its portfolio of festivals around the world to 30 in total.
Live Nation said the acquisition is its first stop in building festivals in France.
The 2008 Main Square Festival took place last weekend and included the Chemical Brothers, Mika and Radiohead.
The company said the deal also includes other events organized on the same site in Arras, including a Celine Dion concert Monday and the Rock En France festival in August.
