Openwave Systems names Willem CFO

Software company Openwave Systems Inc. said Monday it named Karen Willem as chief financial officer effective immediately.

Anne Brennan, who had been serving as interim chief financial officer, was named to the new position of vice president, head of finance.

Willem has more than 25 years experience in finance, sales and general management. Prior to joining Openwave, she served as chief financial officer of Cassatt Corp., a utility computing software company that she co-founded.

Openwave shares fell 9 cents , or 7.4 percent, to $1.13 in the regular session.
