Senomyx Inc., which makes flavor enhancers, said Monday it extended its research and license agreement to create new gum flavors for the U.S. unit of candy maker Cadbury PLC by one year.
The agreement will allow for the discovery and commercialization of new flavor ingredients in the gum-candy area.
Under the terms of the extended agreement, Senomyx said Cadbury agreed to pay the company research funding and specified payment upon the achievement of certain milestones.
Once the products are sent to stores, Senomyx will receive royalty payments based on sales of the products using the new ingredients.
The two companies began collaborating in July 2005.
