Cigna spent $290,000 lobbying in 1Q

Health insurer Cigna Corp. spent $290,000 in the first quarter lobbying on health care, insurance and Medicare issues according to a recent disclosure form.
The Philadelphia-based company lobbied on issues including data privacy, mental health benefits, health care technology and children's health insurance, according to an April 21 filing with the House clerk's office.
Besides lawmakers, the company lobbied the Congressional Budget office, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Treasury Department, the White House, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Cigna spent $1.2 million on lobbying last year.
