Circor lifts 2Q earnings outlook; shares rise

Circor International Inc. increased its second-quarter profit outlook Tuesday, citing strong sales growth in its energy business and good performance in its thermal fluids controls business.
The company, which makes valves and other fluid control products, expects a profit of $1.04 to $1.10 per share, compared with earlier guidance for 74 cents to 83 cents per share.
Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expect a profit of 80 cents per share on $184.9 million in revenue.
Shares of Circor rose $6.08, or 12.1 percent, to $56.30 in aftermarket activity. They earlier climbed 95 cents to end regular trading at $50.22. The stock has ranged from $35.48 to $54.11 over the past year.
