Internet software and services stocks finished mostly higher Tuesday along with the overall market, with shares of online auctioneer eBay Inc. rising ahead of the sector.

How key Internet software and services stocks performed Tuesday:

EBay Inc. rose $1.73, or 6.4 percent, to $28.65.

Yahoo Inc. rose 73 cents, or 3 percent, to $24.64.

Google Inc. rose $10.62, or 2 percent, to $554.53.

Akamai Technologies Inc. fell 12 cents to $32.34.

VeriSign Inc. fell 40 cents to $32.85.
