Major beverage stocks wavered in afternoon trading Tuesday after Anheuser-Busch Cos. filed a lawsuit against InBev SA in federal court, seeking to bar the Belgian brewer from soliciting support for a buyout from Anheuser's shareholders.
InBev filed a motion Monday asking Anheuser-Busch shareholders to fire the company's board of directors and replace those members with a slate selected by InBev, as it seeks support of its $46 billion bid for the maker of Budweiser.
How shares of some major beverage makers performed:
Anheuser-Busch rose 2 cents to $61.76.
Molson Coors Brewing Co. fell 56 cents to $53.51.
PepsiCo Inc. fell 79 cents to $65.83.
Coca-Cola Co. rose 18 cents to $51.47.
