The Outdoor Advertising Association of America spent more than $257,000 in the first quarter lobbying on a highway bill and other issues, according to a disclosure report.
The group also lobbied Congress on the regulation of outdoor advertising, according to the report filed with the House clerk's office April 21.
Members of the association include CBS Outdoors, a unit of CBS Corp., and Clear Channel Outdoors, one of the world's largest billboard advertisers, which is 90 percent owned by Clear Channel Communications, Inc. The group also represents companies that advertise on mass transit and other outdoor locations.
Ken Klein, a former chief of staff for ex-Sen. Bob Graham, D-Fla., is among those registered to lobby for the association.
