Power supply group spent $220K lobbying in 1Q

The Electric Power Supply Association spent $220,000 in the first quarter lobbying on energy issues, according to a disclosure report.

The trade group, which represents electricity generators such as NRG Energy Inc., AES Corp., Exelon Corp., Mirant Corp., Constellation Energy Group Inc. and Reliant Energy Inc., lobbied on issues related renewable energy, fuel diversity, climate change and tax incentives.

Besides Congress, the association lobbied the Department of Energy, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Commodity Futures Trading Commission and others in the first three months of the year, according to the form filed with the House clerk's office on April 21.
