WASHINGTON (AP) _ XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc., which is seeking regulatory approval for an acquisition by rival Sirius Satellite Radio Inc., on Tuesday posted a smaller second-quarter loss as total new subscribers to the satellite radio company's services rose 17 percent.

WILMERDING, Pa. (AP) _ Railroad equipment supplier Wabtec Corp. on Tuesday said its second-quarter profit rose 20 percent, helped by international expansion and a jump in sales.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ PepsiAmericas Inc., a bottler of Pepsi beverages, said Tuesday second-quarter profit rose 16 percent, partly on higher volume in a number of European countries such as Poland and Romania.
