SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Shares of Advanced Micro Devices Inc. tumbled 5 percent Tuesday to a multiyear low as fresh data emerged revealing that the slumping chip maker lost more market share to bigger rival Intel Corp.

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) _ Shares of drugmaker Merck & Co. continued to fall Tuesday, a day after the second study in six months cast doubts on the effectiveness of the blockbuster combination cholesterol pill Vytorin it sells with partner Schering-Plough Corp.

WASHINGTON (AP) _ Shares of Boston Scientific Corp. fell Tuesday after the medical device maker reported its earnings fell 15 percent in the second quarter due to lower sales and charges from acquisitions and restructuring.
