Sealy Corp. said Tuesday it appointed Lawrence Rogers as the company's new president and chief executive officer.
Rogers served as interim CEO since March after David McIlquham resigned.
Rogers has worked for Sealy since 1979, serving in various capacities including president of Sealy's North America, Canadian and international divisions.
Sealy, the largest bedding manufacturer in the world, said the move is effective immediately.
The mattress maker reported earlier this month its second-quarter earnings dropped 26 percent to $12 million, as domestic sales volumes declined and material costs surged.
Shares of the company rose 61 cents, or 9.8 percent, to close at $6.85
