The Cheesecake Factory Inc. said late Wednesday its chief financial officer, Michael Dixon, resigned.
The restaurant chain did not disclose a reason for his departure, which is effective immediately. Dixon served as finance chief since December 2003.
Cheryl Sloman, vice president and controller for the company, will serve as interim chief financial officer.
The company said Dixon, 45, will remain available as a consultant during the transition.
The company is expected to release its quarterly earnings Thursday.
Shares of Cheesecake Factory closed at $16.19 Wednesday, then fell 94 cents, or 5.8 percent, to $15.25 in aftermarket electronic trading.
