Real estate investment and property manager Jones Lang LaSalle Inc. on Wednesday said football legend Roger T. Staubach was elected to its board.
Staubach, 66, is the executive chairman of the firm's Americas region, a role he assumed July 11, after Jones Lang LaSalle bought real estate services firm The Staubach Company.
The Pro Football Hall of Famer founded The Staubach Company in 1977 and served as its chairman and chief executive until June 2007, when he became executive chairman.
Staubach played for the Dallas Cowboys from 1969 to 1980.
He is also a board member of AMR Corp., the parent of American Airlines, and movie theater operator Cinemark Holdings Inc.
Staubach will initially serve a term that will expire at the company's 2009 annual meeting. His appointment brings the Jones Lang LaSalle Board to a total of nine directors.
Shares of the company added $1.88, or 3.2 percent, to $61.64 in morning trading.
