Chemical maker Solutia Inc. said Wednesday it will raise prices as much as 25 percent on its Therminol heat transfer fluid products to offset rising energy and raw material costs.
The increases will vary by the type of product and where it is sold, and will apply to orders for all non-contract customers and in cases where it is allowed by contract beginning Aug. 7.
Therminol heat-transfer fluids are used for the indirect transfer of process heat such as in heating and air conditioning systems.
Earlier this month, Solutia imposed a similar price increase, of up to 30 percent, on its Skydrol aviation hydraulic fluids.
Shares of the St. Louis-Mo.-based Solutia rose 34 cents to $14.62 per share in Wednesday afternoon trading.
