NEW YORK (AP) _ Shares of auto companies tumbled Thursday, after Ford Motor Co. announced its worst quarterly loss in its history.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ Airline shares gave up some of their recent gains on Thursday amid broad stock market declines and a slight rebound in the price of oil.

NEW YORK (AP)_ Wall Street has so far dealt with a mixed second-quarter report card for biotechnology companies, but shares continue outpacing the broader market on a mix of positive sales results and a bright outlook for buyout potential within the sector.

NEW YORK (AP) _ Cirrus Logic Inc. and Qualcomm Inc. were among the few chip stocks heading sharply higher Thursday, though the sector as a whole declined along with the broader market.
